Description

It is a translation and commentary of the important report of the Apostolic Visitor Ignatius Persico on the Church of the Thomas Christians towards the end of the 19th century. This report had its far-reaching consequences in the Syro-Malabar Church. On the basis of this and other reports the Holy See took the important decision to separate the Thomas Christians from the Latin Jurisdiction and to erect two Vicariates Apostolic for them at Trichur and Kottayam.
